TRU-016 for the Treatment of B-Cell Malignancies

Trubion also is pursuing development of TRU-016, a novel CD37-targeted therapy for the treatment of B-cell malignancies, such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) developed under its Facet Biotech collaboration. TRU-016 uses a different mechanism of action than CD20-directed therapies and has demonstrated potent antitumor activity in its preclinical evaluation and now in Phase 1 clinical study. As a result, we believe its novel design may provide patients with improved therapeutic options and enhance efficacy when used alone or in combination with chemotherapy and/or other CD20-directed therapeutics.

TRU-016 is currently in Phase 1 evaluation for CLL. The open label clinical trial has two parts: a Phase 1 dose escalation study designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of TRU-016, and a Phase 2 expansion cohort designed to further evaluate the safety and to estimate clinical activity of TRU-016 in patients with previously treated CLL or small lymphocytic leukemia.

At ASCO in June 2009, we announced the presentation of encouraging Phase 1 safety and efficacy results following administration of low doses of TRU-016 in heavily pre-treated patients with high-risk genomic factors and relapsed or refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
