Trubion Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of novel medicines to treat inflammatory disease and cancer. Trubion has developed a proprietary product engine to create a novel class of compounds known as SMIPs™ (Small Modular ImmunoPharmaceuticals). SMIPs are highly-specific, single-chain polypeptides designed with optimized target binding and effector functions to overcome limitations of therapeutic antibodies and antibody alternatives. SMIPs are significantly smaller than antibodies and can reach sites unavailable to larger molecules. These novel compounds can be expressed in mammalian cells and customized for many disease targets.
